W2. What is Wikipedia- CAI MUBO

Summary:


Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia project. It is characterized by free content and free editing. It is the largest and most popular reference book on the global network, ranking the top 10 most popular websites in the world. Because Wikipedia can quickly sort out information related to recent events, and anyone can deeply sort out the data content, many people gradually regard Wikipedia as a news source.


Interesting point:


I was interested in many of the information on Wikipedia is made by people who advocate popular culture and other things to write their favorite projects, which means that in many cases, the website is very vulnerable to human sabotage for various reasons, even if some reports prove that many items can be easily recovered after being damaged, but Wikipedia still contains large Unconfirmed or contradictory information.

Summary Wikipedia is a multilingual online encyclopedia as an collaboration project. It isn't made by one people. Anyone can write and share information. It is maintained by non profit organizations. It is the largest and most popular  general reference work on the World Wide Web, and is one of the 20 most popular websites. Diverse information can be found in encyclopedia. Interesting point Wikipedia is made by group. All people in group can share their own information. Not only expert, but also anyone who have interest in topic, they can participate in make dictionary. I had a negative opinion about this in past, because this can affect on accuracy of information. But, after I realized that  this is "collaboration" project, many people can give a feedback to writers who post wrong information.
