There are two complementary postures
at the heart of Wikipedia collaboration: the stances of “Neutral Point of View”
(NPOV) and good faith.
A Neutral Point of View is to
participate in a fair debate without prejudice rather than defending either
side. This is an argument that includes facts, not opinions themselves, when
talking about opinions. To this end, we must always be objective. George Von
Krogh identifies five dimensions relevant to the successful creation of
knowledge within a community: mutual trust, active empathy, access to help,
lenience in judgment, and courage.
We share the
love of knowledge and treat everyone who shares the same love with respect and
good faith. In the end, Neutral Point of View makes the subject of a collaborative
encyclopedia compatible, and a good faith makes cooperation possible.
Can
Wikipedia actually collaborate?
Wikipedia is
composed of anonymous and have a different point of view. In addition,
religion, politics is different. I think that Wikipedia is the most important
thing in respect. It is important to respect other people to make effective the
encyclopedia. And collaborative
relationships have to cope with the misunderstandings as well as the
epiphanies, and the tool should be able to support them all with grace.
