W4. Deletion of Wikipedia Yeongjae Kim 김영재

When I took some another Wikipedia class, I translated some korean wiki by english. And then I left the korean wiki as the source of english wiki. After a while, I found that there was some notify about my wiki edit was just deleted. It is because wiki's source can't be another wiki the deleter said. Thanks to him, I knew the rule of wiki edit for the first time. So I found the korean wiki's source and translated that source to english wiki.

After that, I surprised because Wikipedia had their own rule and followed that very well even if it is free internet page. Also I surprised when I made some wiki edit, then another people(in this case the manager of wikipedia I think) supervise my edit whether my edit is followed wikipedia's rule.

I think the reasons for the development of Wikipedia are reasonable rule and wiki user's own supervison.

Summary Wikipedia is a multilingual online encyclopedia as an collaboration project. It isn't made by one people. Anyone can write and share information. It is maintained by non profit organizations. It is the largest and most popular  general reference work on the World Wide Web, and is one of the 20 most popular websites. Diverse information can be found in encyclopedia. Interesting point Wikipedia is made by group. All people in group can share their own information. Not only expert, but also anyone who have interest in topic, they can participate in make dictionary. I had a negative opinion about this in past, because this can affect on accuracy of information.
