W4. Reading assignment - Woojin Jeong
Summary
Wikipedia has rules that those people should follow in the process it is run by many volunteers around the world.
Those are five pillars. The first is that anyone can edit Wikipedia, the second is to take a step back and think and respect people with different ideas and opinions, the third is to take a neutral view (NPOV), the fourth is to record proven quality information, and the last fifth is that Wikipedia has no strict rules. Although not included in the rules here, citizenship and humor in Wikipedia are also good factors when Wikipedia is equipped Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of cooperation, so it is important for people in Wikipedia to respect and embrace each other. Always good faith is primary thing in Wikipedia.
Wikipedia is a symbol of freedom for people around the world to share information without any sanctions. In other words, Wikipedia represents openness. However, too much openness can cause many problems. Therefore, the balance between openness and proper closeness is important.

I didn't know that Wikipedia really seek 'good things' like good faith, interaction and respecting each other and so on. I am getting known that the Wikipedia always try to have good purposes.

I agree that I didn't know the purpose of Wikipedia. If it weren't for this lecture, I wouldn't have known about Wikipedia's role. I think this reading is very helpful.
