Summary
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. I totally agree that this sentence. The prevalence of the term open in contemporary discourse is indicative of something important, and provides a window into understanding the English Wikipedia community. And today I want to talk about the transparency. Actually I think Wikipedia is doing well in transparency because anyone can modify Wikipedia's content and anyone can see it. Only with this transparency the Wikipedia this community will continue to live and breathe and grow only so long as those of us who participate in it continue to do the right thing.Interesting thing
I think Wikipedia's success is really due to the fact that anyone can edit it. So Wikipedia’s success to date is entirely a function of our open community. But ironically, Wikipedia is not looked upon favorably by some prominent FOSS developers. Eric Raymond himself has characterized Wikipedia as a “disaster” that is “infested with moonbats;”This point was confused me.
