W10.2 Remix Culture / Seungju Lee

1. Summary

In this reading, the definition of remix culture is explained. Remix culture is a society that allows and encourages derivative works by combining or editing existing materials to produce new creative work or product.

This reading explains that remixing was always a part of the human culture. But, remixing has some problems. It is related to copyright. In this process, remix culture has created an environment that is nearly impossible for artists to have or own original work.

So if this is to persist, people need to create new things.

2. Interesting point

It is interesting that there are many remixes in many areas. And through this, I could see many examples of remixes and the positive effects based on them. But on the other hand, I found that there were also many problems such as copyright issues. I felt that it took everyone's efforts to solve this problem.
