W.7 GFC review Yeongjae Kim
The book introduces good points, bad points of Wikipedia and good case of Wikipedia's collaborative aspects or bad aspects. To be honest, I couldn't fully understand this book. Because it was written more than 10 years ago and I don't know Wikipedia very well. So I read book by changing Wikipedia to Youtube, and then I could understand this book a little bit more. (even if they are not exactly same)
In chapter 1, the book said 'Wikipedia’s topical coverage of general knowledge and technical issues is quite good, but it has blind spots in other specialist areas.' Youtube is same that. There is a lot of information of movie, drama, IT in Youtube and Wikipedia. But when it comes to some expertise, there is a little information. (But Wikipedia has more about that than Youtube I think). However there is a difference that Wikipedia's contents can be edit by anyone but Youtube is not.
The book is quite old so there are some contents that I can't understand, but by reading it according to these days topic I can understand the book's contents and explains.
