W8.1 Reliability of Wikipedia / Juhee Cha
1.Summary
Although
frequently questioned Wikipedia's reliability, its reliability was
statistically verified through comparative review, historical pattern analysis,
and the advantages and disadvantages inherent in Wikipedia's unique editing
process.
Because Wikipedia is open to anonymity and co-editing, its reliability is often determined by how quickly it removes false or misleading information. Two years after its establishment, in 2003, IBM researchers concluded in a real-time study that Wikipedia had "a surprisingly effective self-healing ability."
Nevertheless, the question of Wikipedia's reliability is that the wrong information is disseminated to other websites. In other words, it's because of the information loop. Even if Wikipedia itself reviewed and deleted it, pre-editing articles spread to other websites. So Wikipedia's credibility deteriorates.

2. Interesting Point
Wikipedia's
fast-paced technology for capturing false information is interesting. The
criteria for measuring the reliability of an article are 1. Accuracy of the
information provided in the article 2. Adequacy of the image provided with the
article 3. Appropriateness of the style and focus of the article 4. Sensitivity
to the false information 5. inclusiveness, scope and scope 6. Identifying
famous third-party sources in the range of articles and articles 7.
Verifiability of statements by sources 8. Sensitivity and bias of editing 10.
Wikipedia measures and reviews people's editing credibility and quickly filters
out false information. Looking at these technologies, Wikipedia's articles are
reliable data. But it's a pity that problems such as information loops are
undermining Wikipedia's credibility.3.Discussion
I think that publishing Wikipedia's pre-revision articles recklessly undermines Wikipedia's credibility. But if you don't let Wikipedia's articles be used, you won't be able to serve as a dictionary. So how do we solve these problems?
