Free culture movement & Remix culture
A free cultural movement is one that can freely modify and distribute content about society. The Free Culture Movement opposes excessively restrictive copyright laws. Because this hinders creativity. This movement is free to exchange ideas. The first person to do this exercise was Stewart Brand. He tried to gain access to information through the "Longer Copyright Act." Commons (CC) is the organization that is commonly associated with free culture. CC encourages creative sharing and spreading of ideas for cultural activities, scientific advances and business breakthroughs.Remix culture is a culture that allows and encourages derivatives by combining or editing existing materials to create new creations or products. Remix culture is basically about allowing copyright owners efforts to improve, change, integrate, or otherwise remix their work. Combining content has been a common practice, but has been increasingly limited by increased copyright restrictions. Remix culture must be constantly shared and created with others.
It was interesting that the remix culture created an environment where it was almost impossible for artists to own or own the original work. Modern society opens art to all the public with the development of the media and the Internet. In cyberspace, this is an important factor. Remix culture is used in all fields, including movies, graphics, books, digital products, religion and so on.
The remix culture needs a change in copyright law. Remix culture is something that the public can share and edit, and I think there could be problems with copyright policy. Should we avoid the remix culture or the copyright issue?
